The August Bank Holiday isnow behind us, but summer in Badesi continues. The climate is warm in Northern Sardinia and on the beach of Li Junchi there are still many who spend the whole day at the beach until sunset. The sea breeze cools the air and the sun reflects off the water in a kaleidoscope of colours When jazz music is added to the fabulous natural spectacle, the atmosphere can only be magic.
For the secondconsecutive year, this natural setting is home to the concert ‘Sunsets with Music over the Straits’.The event is scheduled for August 20th from 19.30 onwards on the LiJunchi beach at Badesi Marina. The music of EnzoFavata is once more the prime attraction, an internationally acclaimed saxophonist and artistic director of theMusic on the StraitsFestival in Santa Teresa Gallura.
On this occasion, the Sardinian musician will be joined by renowned singer Dudu Manhenga. A native of Zimbabwe, she has become famous for her unique sound in which traditional African music blend with elements of jazz, gospel and soul. The band is composed of five musicians from Zimbabwe and two Sardinians, Enzo Favata on saxophones and Marcello Peghin on guitars.
The event,which is free, attracts many jazz fans as well as others who simply enjoy the uniqueness of the occasion. Sweet melodies waft across the beach at sunset and the sound of the sea echoes fromthe shoreline, while just behind, the sand dunes are full of the fragrant aroma of Mediterranean maquis.
